Lecture to North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement

In mid-October, Dr. Gillespie lectured at the UNCA Reuter Center's College for Seniors on the topic of Oral and Systemic Health:   Exploring the Connection.   Information was presented regarding the emerging association between gum disease and cardiovascular disease.   Also discussed was new information connecting the bisphosphonate class of drugs (Actonel, Fosamax, Boniva, etc.) with a rare dental side effect, called bisphosphonate osteonecrosis.   This was the second time Dr. Gillespie has lectured before this august group!
