New Patients

What To Expect On Your First Visit
We love to welcome new patients into our practice, and are looking forward to meeting you! Unless you are experiencing a dental emergency or having any discomfort, we recommend you see us for a New Patient Comprehensive Exam. During this visit you will see our New Patient Coordinator, Colene and either Dr. Gillespie or Dr. Dimsdale. We allow 1 1/2 hours because of the thoroughness of the exam.

Colene will see you first and will go over your health history, take necessary x-rays, a full mouth series and panoramic x-ray, intra- and extraoral photographs, study models, if needed, and periodontal (gum) measurements.

After Colene has completed the first portion of the exam, the Doctor you are scheduled with (your choice, of course) will do a complete exam of your mouth including a cancer screening. He will then explain his findings and discuss any treatment recommendations or answer any questions you may have.

Once the exam has been completed, we can determine what type of cleaning you will need and how much time to allow for your appointment(s). Colene will then schedule your next appointment(s) to have your teeth cleaned.

Our ultimate goal is to help you to achieve optimum dental health in a warm, friendly and professional setting.

We take both a panoramic AND digital full mouth series of x-rays (we do not charge for both). We feel that each x-ray, in its own way, is an excellent diagnostic tool.
