Fall has arrived at Gillespie Dental Associates and there is a lot to celebrate! This season has brought exciting changes, special memories, and plenty of reasons to be grateful for the patients and team members who make our practice so special.
As we head toward the end of the year, we wanted to share a few updates from around the office and a reminder to take care of your smile before the holiday season gets into full swing.
Celebrating a New Chapter at GDA
This has been a very special year for Gillespie Dental Associates. We officially began a new chapter of practice ownership and we couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead.
In September, we celebrated this milestone with our Patient Appreciation Event at Highland Brewing, bringing together our team, patients, friends, and family for an evening of music, food, drinks, and plenty of memories.
A very special thank you goes to everyone who joined us to celebrate. It was the perfect way to recognize the history of Gillespie Dental Associates while looking forward to the future.
Celebrating Dr. Gillespie
Of course, this year also marks an important transition for Dr. Timothy E. Gillespie, as he prepares for retirement after decades of caring for generations of patients in Asheville.
We are incredibly grateful for everything Dr. Gillespie has contributed to Gillespie Dental Associates, our patients and our community. His passion for dentistry, music, leadership, and – most importantly – people, has left a lasting mark on this practice.
While we’re excited for the next chapter, we’re certainly going to miss having him around the office!
Dr. Gillespie’s last day in the office will be Tuesday, December 22, 2026.
We hope you’ll join us in thanking him for the many years of care, laughter, music and memories he has shared with our GDA family.

Fall Is the Perfect Time to Take Care of Your Smile
The end of the year has a way of sneaking up on us. Before calendars fill up with holiday parties, travel and family time, take a moment to make sure your dental care is on track. Staying consistent with regular cleanings and exams is one of the simplest ways to keep your smile healthy year round.
Don’t let your dental benefits go unused.
If you have dental insurance benefits that reset at the end of the year, now is a great time to check what you’ve used and what may still be available. If you have recommended treatment you might have forgotten about or if you’re due for your next cleaning, give us a call and get it on the schedule.
Get ready for the holiday sweets.
We know what’s coming: cookies, pies, candy, and all the other holiday favorites. Enjoy them, but don’t forget to brush and floss. We recommend keeping some floss and a travel toothbrush handy for those busy days when you’re away from home.

As we head into the holiday season, please keep our upcoming office schedule in mind:
Thanksgiving
November 25: Closing at 1 PM
November 26 – 27: Office Closed
Christmas & New Year’s
December 23: Closing at 2 PM
December 24 – January 3: Closed for the holidays
If you experience a dental emergency while we’re closed, please call the office and leave a message for the doctor on call. We’ll make sure your message gets to the appropriate provider.
