As I have gotten older, I’ve realized that you never quite get everything dialed in just the way you want it and keep it there. For long, anyway. There’s just too many moving pieces to life. So, in response, I have become more and more comfortable accustomed to change, such that I now view my working relationships not only as... read more »
I’m often asked how I am able to keep my staff turnover so low. While most of it is just dumb luck, some of it is that I am fortunate—blessed—to have found the right people to work in my office, and some of it is just simple math: I take care of my employees, and they take care of me... read more »
In past blog posts, I have written about the fact that I am pursuing an MBA. This endeavor is partly a self-enrichment project (you can only watch so much American Idol!), but mostly because I am a continuous student, always interested in learning how to better the clinical and business aspects of my practice. It seems that just about every week this summer (and now fall!) that I am introducing our practice friends and family to someone new. Well, there’s no revolving door here at Gillespie, DMD, but we have had some ch-ch-ch-ch-changes this year, what with Darlene retiring, Belinda moving, Donna going part-time, and now, Michelle going part-time! Our latest, greatest addition is... read more »
She’s back! Hygienist and the Official 2014 Chapstick Model for our office, Donna Barnhart is back from maternity leave! Feeling that motherly tug to spend time with her newborn, Chase, and older brother, Cooper, Donna will be working a three-day workweek with us until sometime in the not-too-distant future when the kiddies head off to grade school. For now, we love... read more »
Okay, so I really don’t want to wear this out since I’ve posted Rebecca all over Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram already, but when someone works with you for 15 years, you just gotta tell the world! I’m so happy to have someone like Rebecca in my office. Working mostly as one of my dental assistants, but having willfully jumped into... read more »
